All About Erhu Zheng SUN

Zheng Sun, an erhu musician based in the Netherlands. She play erhu from 9 years old. When she got her bachelor degree in XingHai Conservatory in 2018, she received a Dutch scholarship and continue her study in the Codarts University for the Arts for a master’s degree in World Music (Turkish department). In 2020, she received her master degree with an award (Friends of Codarts). 
Apart from invitation for solo recitals, Zheng was also invited to play solo with orchestra. In 2019, She played Erhu solo with Opus 10 in Amsterdam Concertgebouw. At the end of 2019, she collaborated with Nedelands Blazers Ensemble for the new year concerts and tour concerts. Because of her passion in different style of music, e.g. Chinese music, Turkish music, Tango music, western classical music, she had opportunities to collaborate with international groups, ensemble and orchestras, such as Arifa band, OTRA, Groundbreakers and Operadagen Rotterdam.  

Zheng has won several awards and scholarships during her study: national inspirational scholarships, outstanding Communist Youth League cadres, dropout awards and outstanding scholarship awards. In April 2016, she won the Erhu Gold Award of the 3rd China National Instrumental Music Competition in Guangdong Province. As an international artist, Zheng performs around the world. Like Xinghai Concert Hall, Zhuhai, Zhaoqing, Hong Kong, Macau, Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Paris. 

Moreover, Zheng is also enthusiastic on teaching. Beside private teaching, she has also given master class in Codarts and De Chinese School Rotterdam en Omstreken.
